Live Show + Recording IN STUDIO - Fri *10/24* @ Stereophonic

Post by themagicmanmdt » Thu Oct 09, 2008 12:21 pm

In Chicago!

Yeah!

You know it!

Three really amazing groups are going to play a live show (everyone's invited) at the studio.

The High Dials (Montreal): www.myspace.com/thehighdials
(I mean, just listen to them.)

The Red Plastic Buddha: www.myspace.com/redplasticbuddha
(Live, these guys remind me of the early Who recordings. Very old school British.)

Memphis Graham: www.myspace.com/memphisgraham
(Harrison-esque, sitar laden tunes. No, for real!)

So, they'll all set up and play all at once, live, for everyone, and I'll be recording it through the magic board, tubes and ribbons, faders and dials.

Fri, 10/24, show starts at 9.

$10 covers admission, free parking, a door raffle for studio time and/or CD's of the event and access to a magic metal keg of pilsner goodness.

Capacity is about 200 for Stereophonic - The High Dials and Red Plastic have already sold about 30 tickets. This'll be really fun.

I mean, if anything, free studio time raffle, right?

Directions and such are on the magic link below:

Hey Marshall,

The posting says the event was on 8/24. So, how did it go?

The High Dials are amazing - they impressed me enough at an Atlanta show a couple of years ago that I let them crash at my apartment. Recommended!

Hey Marshall!

Great idea, man. Don't know if I'll be able to make it up from Homewood tonight, but wanted to wish you good luck regardless.

FYI - I PM'd you my contact info too.
