I like ice cream. Breyer's Vanilla Fudge Twirl is my favorite.

is this stuff gonna eventually become mp3s?

if it's gonna be made into an mp3 eventually it doesn't matter. they always sound terrible.

good recordings or bad recordings don't matter if it's gonna be an mp3. trust me.

I'd just eliminate the middle man so to speak and have the drummer pound sand. The color and grain phase of course would be his choice.

there's tons of Chinese sand that can be had for pennies on the dollar. then you just buy a nice American or British sand bag and transfer the sand from the Chinese bag into the new bag, being careful not to spill any of it, and you'll have that great vintage American or Vintage sand sound. Or you can just spray paint "Telefunken" on the Chinese bag and call it M16 sand.

You guys have it ALL wrong.

The sand bags get tied to the drummer's right forearm. THERE is where the snare 'sound' comes from.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I used to share a rehearsal studio with a shitty punk band and the drummer had a whole sweater inside his snare. Holy shit did that sound fabulous.

Just recently I noticed a little flutter echo in my monitoring position, so I slathered some paste on the walls each side and threw a bucket of sand at it - the grains diffuse the echoes wonderfully.

Have to be proper dodecahedrons, though, none of that spherical bullshit.

You method is correct, but your reasoning is wrong. The sandbag on the right are is to keep the drummer from hitting the hihat too hard. With the weight he can't lift his arm as high as he usually does...

I'm going to start releasing pure, unadulterated barcodes. There is nothing more legitimate than pure legitimacy.
