WTB: Deep wood snare, marching snare
been thinking about adding a deep, wood (I can rip off a shell off a wood drum) DEEP marching type snare to my arsenal.
14 x 10 or 12 or around there.
doesn't have to be pretty, can be incomplete, would prefer local.. NYC.

I like the old ludwig and WFL marching snare drums, like this one on ebay right now. I've got one and love it (not selling mine). They come up alot for sale it seems, though. They're weird in that it's a single lug that goes from front to back so there are limitations to tuning, but it's super lightweight (at least mine is) and can get a really full, deep, and, IMHO, awesome sound.
EDIT: I'm not necessarily saying get this one on ebay. I have seen them for cheaper. I got mine for, I think, $40 off a guy from craigslist in NY about 6 years ago.
