RICHMOND VA TapeOp folks? beer night or some such nonsense?

Regional activities, relevant news, job openings, studio searches, local beer nights (not a forum to plug the new album you just worked on)

yeah, it's true.

<science>More beer = more compressors</science>

You will be missed and you are right i think we'll have to meet up a couple times between meet ups to wrap things up.

Have fun out of town!

Ok,
Post on here if you want to do the opto project. That way Erik and I can get going on collecting up the parts.

Sound Off!

i'm new to this whole tape op forum, but was wondering if the offer for building the comp was still up for discussion?

my name's rich and i live in richmond, although i work out of raleigh when i'm tracking...would really like to catch up with everyone when i'm home to discuss gear and recording....is there anything planned for may yet? better yet, i get home tomorrow from this week long session and hopefully will be home for the rest of the week. anyone up for a beer this week maybe?

Mucho thanks to Chris for hosting the event last night -- your space is freaking amazing and I really hope things work out well for you there! Was great briefly catching up with everyone, sorry I had to run but had previous engagements and an old friend in town.

Chris forgot to ask but was that my old Ashly in the rack? Have you used it? Let me know how you like it!!

Allen -- I guess let's count ghostwriter in on the compressor build and get a final head count this week. I can place an order to mouser by end of this week.

ghostwriter, nice to meet you. I'm always up for a beer and always seem to be hanging around my little project studio -- PM me for details and maybe we can catch up this week (anyone else interested in checking out my new space let me know as well!). I'm close to the Bottom.

cheers all!

i'm free thursday night for beers... sounds cool!

I may have to order some PCBs for more people hop on, which is great except it will add a little bit to the kits. i'll talk with erik and figure out what the total cost is before we order and give a confirmation of the price.

gotta start etching the pcbs!

I'm gonna be out of town Friday and have a show Saturday, but I'd be free after 10 on Thursday for beers.

But count me in for the opto build, but I think you already knew this. You might want to contact Patrick too, cause he was very interested but rarely posts here. -Chris

Post by mr.monty70 » Mon Apr 13, 2009 8:07 am

Hi. I'm new to the forum. I found out about this from Eric last night. I'd like to start coming to the beer night. I'd really like to get in on this compressor project too. What do I need to do?

how's the new space Erik? i definitely need to come check it out.
