800 square feet.
Im moving my studio. Im going to go look at a all open 800 square feet block office with a 10 foot ceiling
How much space do you have to record in. Do you think this will be reasonable for a large live room, and a control area?
Im going today to look at the space... I will take photos, and post them.
The cost is $300 a month.

yeah that's more than enough.. i've got about 700 square ft with 8ft ceilings now and I make it work..
unfortunately i have to move the studio within 6 months... and finding a commercial building around the same size is a hell a lot more than $300... more like $1,000 and up. I'm currently in a large basement of a house. and my studio rent is also my living rent so it works out.

Re: 800 square feet.
It's funny you should ask...the Musician/Engineer Survey 2009 has a section on studio set-up. You guys will all be surprised to find what the typical square footage is!sonicdeath wrote:Im moving my studio. Im going to go look at a all open 800 square feet block office with a 10 foot ceiling

Results should be up sometime at the end of September or early October off the Third Monk Records site!

Here in LA you pay 300 a month for a 8x10 room.
You got a good deal.
