Wilco (the loft)

It doesn't pan any wider than the initial view, or rotate, but you can zoom far enough to read titles off some of the CDs on the shelf (NRBQ, Weakerthans, Count Basie, like 15 copies of the Minus 5 "Down with Wilco" on vinyl), the model of the console, etc. Kind of fun little peak at their space.

There's an article about that place in the new Mix.

The flamed KRK speakers and the Neve sidecar are Jim Scott's.
I don't think Wilco make a huge amount of money (although I'm sure they do alright), I think it's just an indication that the band puts their earnings back into harbouring a place that encourages music and creativity. Most bands just spend it all on more temporary "investments".

I know that when I wake up weekends and look around my little bedio space, I am totally psyched to be writing and recording.
I can only imagine what it would be like to have access there ...
I might admit that years ago I was friends with one of their "crew" (he actually helped mix Kicking Televisions) and over the years I hung out with and was acquainted with various others (including at least one wife), and years before even UT I had drinks a cuppla times with Mr. Tweedy inna college bar; in my now dotage I wish I had somehow kept up those contacts!
Yeah, like they'd let me come over and play in their loft.
