OK, I finally got the "studio" cleaned up and fully operational. To celebrate the occasion, here's some pics. The Otari with the crappy little Scotch 7" reel on it is ultimately to be my mixdown deck. The Otari behind the TSR-8 is set up for tape delay. The power amp for the whole thing is a Harmon-Kardon that I got with a full stereo setup for $25. It replaced the Crate SP-200, which cost $100 and only sounded half as good as the H-K. Monitors are Tannoy PBM-8, with JBL P-20's up top. The P-20's came from the same garage sale as the H-K. I need to find a way to get them off the top of the Tannoys, but I haven't figured out how just yet. The room is rectangular, maybe 12' x 18', with non-crappy paneling on the north and south walls. Thanks to Mrs. Jetski for help with the pictures.

Love the lamp above the Board! Got a detail pic of that? And I like the look of the board. What's the model number?

Great stuff. Congrats.

I admit it. I'm pokey. Although the elapsed time between having something worth taking a picture of, and posting those pics was about 3 hours.

The pic of the board + lamp is about as close a detail shot as I have of the lamp. The board is a Ramsa WR-s4412. It has its liabilities, but I love it dearly.

I suppose my next step should be some acoustic treatment (I mean, other than the baffling effect all the gear has). I do everything but drums in this one room.

big thumbs up on the ramsa wr-s44xx series. i got a few of them myself and love them dearly, too. the eq is the only thing i wish was better. more bussing would be nice, but not a killer.

I used to run a wrs4112 for a live and recording. Yeah, 12 channels! Not so bad with an 8 track reel to reel! Also the neat thing about those ramsas is that they have inserts on everything. EVERYTHING! Also the mic/line switch is awesome! Too bad you cant bring the line in on a monitor aux like some boards.
The eq isnt very good in implementation but the general premise is good. Big as hell for a 12 channel board right?

So, in honor of the 5 year anniversary...
.... here's a YouTube video(!) of my studio!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcrJrAt1OlA

You can't see the HD24 or most of my recording setup.... you can see my new band playing our debut at my Halloween party! (I'm on bass). The columns in the corner are Versipanels rolled up to serve as bass traps.
