Good source for capstan motor lube?

I, too, have recently picked up an Otari MX-5050 MKIII 8-track (hasn't everyone?).

The manual specifies Anderol 456 for lubing the capstan motor bearings. The product still exists, but it doesn't seem easy to locate in small quantities (five gallons for $275, anyone?)

My 2-track is a 3M M-23 and you can't lube those capstan motor bearings, so I don't really have anything comparable on hand.

Anyone have a source for a good alternative synthetic lube designed for a wide temperature range with minimal gumming or deposits and low wear?

I was wondering about this too. I have some hammond tonewheel oil. I wonder if that is close? probably not. .
