What did you work on this week 1/10 - 1/16?

The banjo player was a no-show for the Good Luck Ola session (he had to chop wood with his dad all day ) In a couple weeks we are going to overdub upright bass, banjo, snare drum (not really a "kit" band) and mandolin and track 4 or 5 new songs.

Below is a link to their Myspace. The first four songs are the ones we did. They knocked the vocals out really quick, I was blown away with how well they locked it in. We did two takes of each song, and all the vocals were one take! I think between the four songs we overdubbed 3 lines that rushed. Only took one punch each time.

I went through them and picked 2 to start.

I spent nine days (and about 120 hours) tracking a handful of demos/ second steps of pre production for an N.Irish band called In Case Of Fire. Long days, loads to do, but it's been my favourite session so far. I've been working with them for about six years now, it just keeps getting more fun and more rewarding with every project. I'm really looking forward the next album.

I Spent Friday going through a list of things to fix and issues to address.
All the exciting things from toasters to door handles to making signs that urge
the other tenants of the building to stop stealing our teabags and bottled water.

I also managed to record one new idea of my own along the way and remembered
about a MiniMoog that I bought before Christmas that has been tucked away in the studio office since then! Setting aside some time this week to make some noises
with that.

drum editing for an album that is almost at 2 years in production. the artist lost her job about 6 months after we started, so things have been in fits and starts this whole time. can't wait to get the damn thing finished. we're using both live and programmed drums, so the editing has been fairly involved... letting the tempo push and pull at all doesn't work for her stuff.
