red
the red font on the forum indexes, etc... gets a little irritating.
Also, and i'm sure this is me just missing something stupid, but i can't figure out how to change my status on my profile. I'm not in audio school anymore! I graduated two years ago!
Oherwise, love the tomb!

The font size needs to be bigger.percussion boy wrote: thinking about pros & cons of this board -- what would you change? what would you keep?
Anyway, what do you all like/dislike?
Isn't that better. Ok maybe not that big..but just a bit.
Oh, and BEIGE and diarrhea yellow are not my favorite colors. Is it anybody's?
Other than that, it's all good.
Thanks.
Re: red
Did you seriously bring this thread back up to complain about the the text color? Why not make a new thread? At least read the original purpose of this thread and contribute accordingly?krabdagger wrote:the red font on the forum indexes, etc... gets a little irritating.

My pet peeve about the board is the vague thread titles. Like "Tube Mics" when the real question is something very specific about tube mics, like where to get a new toob or something. C'mon people, save me some clicks!

A suggestion - since we can agree that the search function ain't great, and the Google option is much better..would it be possible to change the search function to a pre-formatted Google search?
And, maybe it's me (MBP Intel Core duo, Firefox), but most times the TOMB consistently takes longer to load than most other sites.
Minor grievances though. This place is second only to craigslist for helping me find out stuff and accomplish things. I've said it before, but for better or worse, my move to Portland was partly based on the impression of this city and the NW in general that this forum and the mag gave me. Not bad for $0.

I use them a bit... and it's a pain to keep having to "go home" to get to them every time.
I'm sure that's an easy remedy...
Cheers

Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.

15,000+ members (granted, not all are active).
300+ posts per day
40 topics per day
how do you keep everyone happy?
YOU CAN'T.
we are in the middle of a huge (and i mean HUGE without pronouncing the "H") site redesign and this is most likely going to include the messageboard...
so...
lots is going to change. not exactly sure what with the TOMB yet because it's so active and can cause us issues (bandwidth, malware hits, lame-ass bored people posting crap, etc etc etc) BUT keep in mind that we're going to do what we can to make it better.
as for the color scheme, i designed this one to match the (existing tape op site) and if you don't like it you should have designed a skin many many years ago when i suggested people that didn't like it do such a thing.
know how many people did that? NONE.
only one person even asked how so i posted a whole thread about how.
how many people offered or showed interest after that? NONE.
the redesign of the TOMB may mean having to re-register for a new board but not sure. we're trying to link board memberships to magazine subscriptions to save people the hassle. we'll see...
it's a HUGE coming soon...
