I've stuck with the "digitaldrummer" thing even though I think my original intention of "digital recording of acoustic drums" aspect is missed by many who probably think I'm some dude "makin beats" with a drum machine.

nope, can't do it.
MoreSpaceEcho is way better. Unless MoreSpaceEchoByNabisco got a little more monthly income rolling in...

My handle is my name, which may or may not be obvious. Using "teh nets" for biz stuff, the power of anonymous doesn't do much for me personally. Gigs, on the other hand, I can use.

Percussion Boy is my real name. The other "name" is just an alias I use when dealing with the earth people. They are scared by anything different.

John, when is your newly mature self coming up here to mjau-n-inverse-land? We could use another Phonograph show at Castaways.

I can't look at "@?,*???&?" and see anything other than "Jeff." Come to think of it, when I see "Toaster3000" I also typically think "John."

But there can be a kinda dehumanizing element to over-investment in screen names, y'know? I found my TapeOp avatar being used by some other person in some other forum, and I was actually shocked and offended for a second. Like, duh. It's anyone's avatar... and it's not even me! It's some guy playing some other guy in some movie or something. That's right, I don't actually look like this.

You must feel so exposed, given how unusual a name John Davis is. :D

Mine is an anagram of my name... that should count, right?
