What colors are best for studio walls?
Wonder if there's any research on this -- what colors in your studio environment makes you relax and create more? Looking for clues on here with my new room...

I've always liked the "ski lodge" look: lots of wood panelling, (acoustically sound, of course,) and darker but neutral colors. But, since you're the only one that will be there all the time, I'd say whatever makes you feel most comfortable. And, of course, your money is better spent on a Fairchild. Once you have one of those you can fart on a snare drum and make a hit record.

A Google search turns up quite a few (sometimes contradictory) hits. The actual studies are probably more reliable than simple opinions, but I'd say experiment and see what works for you. What colors make you feel more creative?
P.S. I'm not sure I'd equate relaxation with creativity. Maybe sometimes, but not always.

I went with a cooler green for the live room to give musicians that "intimate pre-show green room" vibe - it seems to work! I get lots of comments like "it feels really relaxed in here".
Cool blue for the control room since I spend up to 12 hours a day in there, and the blue walls soothe my constantly mounting rage.

My room is in my basement... It's not that big, but I make it work for me.
When I moved in, the walls were dark chocolate brown. I considered different colors and finally decided to go with an off-white, with lamps in the corners for ambiance... (took the fluorescents right outa there!)
The room feels bigger than it is now...
