I was looking for a new Dynamic mic that would be a work horse.(ya know, another option other then the 57/58) Using it for live and recording purposes.
Has anyone tired the Blue Microphones enCORE 200? all the reviews i have read have been good except this one

I've not tried the Blue but I like Audix i5s for general duties over a 57...

i love the old school ev stuff. i've been using pl(re)11's and 635a's for dynamics all the time lately. the i5's are decent...and of coarse the m88 rules.

I have the Blue Encore 200 and I use it for live vocals as well as recording too. It is a great mic and for the price is a no brainer IMHO.

Just did a show with Blitzen Trapper and their FOH guy is using them on all guitar amps. Forgot to ask him his opinion but the guitars sounded fantastic.

I've also been using them on electric guitar amps, has a nice fat sound.
Found them to be alright for vocals, a bit muddy though. Maybe certain female vocals would be better though. Overall I think definitely worth the price.
