Hi, I got hold of a couple of old transformers for my color box
I am looking at wiring diagram(see below)

Now if I wire these as 600:600 line transformers
1. They will be unbalanced, right?
2. Not quite sure what the center tap does?
Any help would be great

wire them for the 600 ohm - which means you will tie the pair together and cover with some shrink tube.
Then hook pins 2 & 3 (tip and ring) of your jacks (XLR or TRS) to the transformer input and output pairs and you will have a balanced input and output. pay attention to the polarity so you don't inadvertently reverse phase. tie the grounds (pin 1 or sleeve) of your jacks and maybe connect the chassis of your transformer in there if needed. done.
