looking for 3 or 4 percussion samples

Post by terryb » Wed Apr 13, 2011 11:26 am

I just learned how to make a custom click in protools and need 3-4 samples of stuff like shaker, woodblock, etc.
Anyone know where I can find something like this for free?
not looking to buy a sample pack as I really have no interest in fake performances.
just need stuff for custom click tracks

You just want single hits of that stuff?

yes, I did google, but I'm not about to download random programs from the internet.
I guess I'll just make my own.

oh, and yes, snarl, single hits.

they're just tiny little wav. files, not programs. i've downloaded tons of samples and never ever had a single problem.

I could try to record you some stuff and I don't see how that's the wrong answer.

Dude, a sample of a guy hitting a woodblock is in no way a "fake performance". That's all any of us would be sending you anyway. Sheesh.

we both know it's not a fake performance, and I think you know well enough what I meant by it.
what I don't really get is why do people choose to respond with corrections to my syntax, word usage or whatever, rather than just helping me find what I'm obviously looking for.
I'm all for being part of a helping and sharing community, but sometimes I feel like it's just too hip around here for me.

Well, sorry for the mild snark, I guess, but I genuinely had NO IDEA what you meant by "fake performance" in the context of a single woodblock hit sample.

If you had been talking about loops or something it would have made sense. But frankly in the context you were asking about (single hits for a click track) that "fake performance" crack just came off like you were one of those dudes who value some illusory quality of "authenticity" over a perfectly serviceable woodblock sample.

I apologize for my reply. I just get tired of the 'look it up' and 'let me point out your misusage of a word' replys. Its certainly nothing against anyone repying to this post. Im just feeling cranky today.

I think if you listen to my friends recently released loop library, you'll be transmogrified into a loop using mayhem causing monster of the area you live in...

I am not affiliated at all with this stuff, or the company. I just think it's cool when someone I know releases stuff like this. Totally different than an album.

Cheers
