Hello, I am looking to acquire a new m160. It seems the pricing on these vary widely. I've seen reputable places selling them for $500 and others for $700.
Anything I should be aware of behind this? Are there any known counterfeits?
Thanks.

Seems there's some wiggle room on cost with those.
I got mine brand new from Full Compass for $435 shipped a few years ago... I'd start there.
I wouldn't sweat counterfeits if it's a reputable dealer.

Thanks. Full Compass is selling them for $699. B&H is doing $499.
Sounds like you got a bargain.

A few years ago the dollar was much stronger against the Euro, which could account for the $699 price (as well as the $435.) The B&H price certainly sounds like a good one in the new economic reality.

Full compass call in price is different than the online price.

Yeah, and they sometimes have some
insane deals...
Like when they were liquidating the Beyer M500 Classics--with the mahogany box and certificate--for 160.00 or so a pop...

exaclty. I called and asked "how low can you go?", and he didn't even stop to look it up... jsut threw that figure at me. SOLD.
Even at 699, it's totally worth it, IMO.

I had the same confusion a few months back. Had a guy on craigslist selling a used one for $500. I offered him less and linked to a few brand new ones for the same price, and he got awfully defensive. It was weird. Anyway, I went with B&H for $499 and I'm super happy. Jesus, what a microphone.

For some reason B&H will be way cheaper on certain items. I've nails never had any issues with my purchases from them and I've bought quite a few things there over the years.

B&H are very trustworthy, imo. When a ship date slipped on a special order recently, they did a refund without any fuss at all. Some places wouldn't do that, given that the item wasn't something they normally kept on hand.
