But I don't think you can imagine just how stressful it is to restrain myself-- but back on topic--
It seems like everyone's tales of blistering audio levels to the ear yield a common theme-- a disorienting spell of ringing and great anxiety, but gradually these lessen and hearing returns to "normal."
Now, if we could expand the topic-- has anyone ever smelled something so powerful it ruined their nose?

Post-Ramones show was the most frightened I had ever been for my ears. After that, almost the first thing I ever did upon entering a club was to go the the men's room, grab some toilet paper, and stuff it in both of 'em.

Arc welding. But I s'pose injuries are going to have unpredictable results, probably never on the plus side.
So we were talking about overloading sensory perceptors that results in damage, and maybe we can classify the senses into those that will and those that won't. Blinding flashes of light, say-- could someone actually really be "blinded"?
