Here for work, but have some free time. Gorgeous fucking place. Any reccos for good bars? Restaurants? Maybe places to see live music? Maybe cool instrument stores, preferably used? Other stuff to do?

check out live shows at the railway club or media club. other lives playing tonight at the media club i think (opened for bon iver - pretty amazing)

drinks at the alibi room.

coffee on commercial - jj bean, prado, arbruzzo.

guitar shop on commercial too - near first... can't remember the name

food: la taqueria, budgies burritos, foundation

music - zulu records on 4th

yes on Zulu for records. My fav record store ever.

Richards on Richards used to have good shows when I lived there.

Thanks for the tips... I flew out on Friday, but by happenstance I did get a beer at the Alibi room. I also had some really good sushi at a place near there (Sea Monster Sushi). Was unable to see any music, hopefully there will be a next time. Spent most of Friday ahead of my flight walking around Stanley Park. Good grief... I had no idea Vancouver was so over-the-top scenery-wise. I'd be surprised if there's a more gorgeous city from a nature perspective.
