We've lost another great one.
I was lucky enough to see Mr Ramone at a conference a few years ago in St Louis. He was still working a ton on both music and delivery systems. He was quite fun to listen to and to talk to.
I listened to The Stranger in his honor today.
RIP Phil Ramone

non music meeting
When I had my neon company Phil Ramone called and asked me to come to the Power Station. He had just finished Julian Lennon's first solo album wanted to make a neon sign as a gift. I had lunch in the studio with Phil and Billy Joel and sat at the piano with Billy and watched him play a little. He showed me his finger that had gotten messed up when some old lady rear ended his motorcycle as he waited at a stop light.
Phil was really nice and very cool......sorry to see him go.
