forgot these (photos from the seller, they're in a rack at my place now).
$60 each, if memory serves:

Ibanez DM1000 - 8-bit DDL from 1983. great character-loaded sound and does gapless hold.

Ibanez HD1000 - 8-bit DDL and pitch transposer from 1983. soupy echoes and ancient-sounding pitch transposition with gnarly wiggles around the edges.

back-lit LCD using a single filament bulb. ancient astronauts, man!

I sprang for the Sofiteque passive summing mixer. It's an 8 channel DIY kit. Easy peasy assembly. http://www.sofiteque.com/shop/pb8t-pass ... mixer-kit/

Having some routing issues at the moment. Channel 1 and 2 are not behaving as expected. They're supposed to be wired mono but they are returned hard panned L/R. Pat at Sofiteque is good about responding to emails, but we haven't quite solved the problem yet. It could certainly be user error ......

Just rec'd a EV 664.

It ain't work.

And when I tried to notify the seller, somehow, the evilBog opened a case because of the seller's "no return policy", even tho' the item was not "as is".

I think it's because I buy really old pieces, that are relatively cheap. Kinda like my women, as a matter of fact - ba-boom!

I really wanted a 664, tho' - I have a 664a and like it, and can't afford a 666, what are hell on the wallet - ba-boom!

This one looks good, except for the hinge screw being a replacement, but there's no signal at all.

And while it could just be the switch or sompin', to try and fix it would just give the seller a reason not to accept the return.

Lemme note, it was sold as "used", but the seller's stated policy is "no return", so Ebay made me open a case just to advise the seller of the problem.

Ebay's a tough one. I prefer the TOMB or one of the other sites I visit regularly for used gear purchases, if I'm not going to have the seller within "strangling distance."

Dumb-arse seller on the e-Bog tried to hostage my refund for me to pay return postage (on a very heavy mic). E-bay disagreed, gave me a refund w/out having to return it.

So I have a new (to me) non-functioning (for now) EV 664, as stated above.

Now I gotta figure how to fix it.

EDIT: I fixed it.

These things (EHX Bass Metaphors) get mixed reviews but I used it two nights ago atta audition into another guy's little 40 watt or so S/S Kustom bass amp.
This thing is like three preamp sections that you can use in parallel:
1. straight pre (gain only);
2. Distortion pre;
3. EQ pre.

So I started with the EQ section, added the straight-pre, and then put a touch of distortion on top (has its own switch) for leads.

It also has a master volume, and a compressor that's just on or off, but I gotta say, this thing really made a shite amp sound good, and made it very easy to play with a light touch, slap-n-pop, etc.
