Live sound gods...I need thy help!

I am wiring up an auditorium about 90ft long x 50ft wide. I am unsure which of these jbl models will suit best: JBL CBT 70J or CBT 100 LA. I have pair of JBL MPro speced similarly to the CBT 100 LA and are plenty powerful for the aplication, but I have never used line arrays. I favor the 100A as it's about 300 bucks cheaper and I am working with a strict budget.

The auditorium is mainly used for plays, meetings, and an occasional movie and sits about 100 people. Attached is the link to the JBL brochure.

Have you consulted with anyone at JBL directly? They may not necessarily point you in the direction of the most expensive/largest option...

If you're going to spec a line array then you need to spend some time with the manufacturer's prediction software. For that matter, a fair number of manufacturers have prediction software for their non-line-array products.

That's your homework.

By the way, are these speakers going to be flown/hung? Who's doing that work?

Overhead rigging these days is a minefield of liability.

I'll add that just because line arrays are the hip new shit, doesn't mean they are the right tool for the job. Too often they are used in situations that would be better served by a traditional trap rig. However, looking at the boxes you have listed and the intended application thereof, it seems like a good fit.

Follow Sco's always excellent advice and do the predictions. Better to find out before the install that 25% of the audience won't be hearing anything.
