Hi,
I have a nice jh-24 which works great when it's not plugged into the auto locator remote. When I plug in the remote and turn the machine on, it automatically is stuck in a play mode. No matter what buttons you hit, it's like the remote is frozen. I've done the usual stuff (reseated IC's, cleaned molex connector pins, cleaned pins of jacks on rear of the machine where remote plugs in, heated up the solder on most of the PC board inside the remote, made sure I have good ground on extra grounding wire, verified correct power after the voltage regulators inside remote, no cracked resistors or leaking caps). The only thing I can think is the rom chips that have the little window on top the chips lost their program... Anyone have thoughts as to what is going on here? Or even better can some repair this section of the remote if I send just the main section of the remote? Or sell me a working section of the remote? Or new rom chips? I'm kinda lost on this.. Any help would be so grateful..
Thanks!
P.s. I also have a studer A80 vu mk2 (24trk). That has a capstain motor that is not spinning at full speed.. Maybe 15ips tops.. Currently recapping the controller cards and verified the 8uf cap going to motor as being "good". Either need motor rebuilt or any ideas that would cause this?
