Wow, awesome article. I'm only halfway through it; you don't often get to read great, in-depth prose like that anymore.

Awesome. Yeah, the recordings and accompanying videos are fantastic. Glad someone checked it out. Perhaps I didn't sell how well-put-together this article is.

A friend linked to this article - very nice. It's wonderful to see a little information on those particular recordings. "Last Kind Words Blues" made a big impression on me when I first heard it some years ago. It's the blues at their strangest and spookiest...

Finally finished (although I've still got to dig in to some of the "interactive" content).

I'm just amazed. Really great writing, meaningful content, well-researched, great video/film/recordings/inter-activity; this is what good historical/music journalism is all about, and this type of thing is what there should be a lot more of on the Internet/WWW/Inter-webs/what-have-you-term-of-the-day.
Amazing that even the New York Times would spend the time and money (unless they didn't, and he just found them willing to publish the material). In any event, kudos to the author, and kudos and many thanks to Rufer!
