FS: Yamaha PM1000 2 channel preamp & EQ w/ upgrades

Post by ricercar.record » Sun May 11, 2014 9:34 pm

unfortunately I have to do a bit of selling off of gear in order to make some car and bill payments. And this includes my custom built Yamaha PM1000 rack. Both channels have upgraded transistors for lower noise, Recapped all Electrolytics and swapped tantalum for Wima Film caps, Wima film capacitors for bypass caps, and Mid band eq selections modified closer to Neve EQ points, 800 Hz, 1.6 khz, and 3.1 khz. Transformer balanced with original tamura output transformers and has original Tamura mic input transformers as well. Equipped with +48V for Phantom power, DI Input and output trim. I built this unit myself, it's quite a beauty and very solidly built. Here's the ebay listing but feel free to make offers on here if you prefer, I can always take down the ebay ad and I would much rather it go to a Tape Oper anyway.

nice build. what did you use for the mid and hpf freq selectors? they look like dpdt but not sure that would be enough for 3 bands.

I used DP3T and 3P3T switches for those.

If you've ever wanted a PM-1000 with all the bells and whistles and professionally built, this is the one for you. Help out a fella unload some gear and pay some bills.
