Fuzzy Carpet Material

Post by Rufer » Mon Dec 29, 2014 9:47 am

What's that fuzzy carpeting material called that covers a lot of rack and mixer cases? Anyone know where I can get some?

Thanks.

Speaker carpet? I've heard the grey stuff referred to as rat fur.

Ozite makes that stuff, I've always heard it referred to as Ozite, but I just looked and they make a lot of other stuff too.

I used to work at a pro audio repair shop and after about a year they built me a nice bench to replace the card table I was working on complete with giant built in load resistors and ozite covering so parts wouldn't roll away.

I promptly spilled a bottle of flux on it and had a permanent sticky/furry spot. I guess that's why I can't have nice things.
