Re: Interesting Article in the NY Times today
politics = suckdom
Re: Interesting Article in the NY Times today
Examples? I'm not going to get into any kind of argument on a messageboard, because I'm not that lame. But if saying things like Left wingers = socialist commie dictators , Right wingers = fascist nazi dictators is your way to justify apathy, then go with it. I'm not sure we've ever had a "left wing" president, but looking at the so called "democrats" who have been in office, I don't think I'd call any of them dictators.Duc wrote:Left wingers = socialist commie dictators

duc always finds himself in political hot water around here. seeing as how i have gotten into a debate with him before let me give you my guess as to what his answer is:
left wingers= pol pot, stalin
right wingers= hitler, suharto
here is a good list:

Re: Interesting Article in the NY Times today
you shouldnt be afraid to get into an argument here. this is the off-topic off-the-cuff section- designed, in part, for arguments.
duc is a perfectly reasonable guy. he'll throw a few punches, take a few punches, then smile and walk away.
ok... now .... GO

People are either victims or victimizers. Common wealth. National security. Anything to justify control over people.
I mean, we have a history of genocide on this planet. Each of which based on differing political agendas. In the end, millions get slaughtered.
Don't think it can happen in America?
People tend to vote themselves into socialism by staging revolutions and executing the rich establishment and intellectuals. We've seen massive protests against capitalism. It could happen like the LA riots. It's the mob mentality. This ruling party will own everything so that there would be no greed and envy. There would be only one class... the working class. Remember the communist manifesto? Working men of the world unite. Agrarian slave labor camps and reeducation. Family structures will not exist. The government is father. Supplying every need to the people. Heaven on earth. Utopia.
The scary thing is that left-wingers play on social angst. Inequality. Health care. Redistribution of wealth. Whatever... sounds great to me, but at what cost.
Republicans are in danger of the same and opposite thing. Nationalism. Kill all muslims and blacklist anyone that threatens national security. Same words, different mustache.
Ahhh... I promised myself not to talk about politics. Each time I do, I just want to commit suicide. The world is FUCKED. We just need to pick which hole.
Sorry eeldip and bluepxl. bluepxl is riding that bliss of innocence as long as he can, and I don't blame him.

Re: Interesting Article in the NY Times today
wow. One little article can spur so much debate! I suppose we're still lucky we can do that much. There are deffinately worse places to live, I only hope we're not becoming one. A regime change seems to be one of the few ways to get the impundents "hands out of the cookie jar" - OR - There are no easy answers!

I'm not sure. Is it a reference to the scene in Dumb and Dumber where Lloyd bets Harry he can get him gambling by the end of the day? Not sure how I feel about the prequel ...cassembler wrote:Bedbug, I hope you cought that reference, because if you didn't, you probably hate me right now.

I have certain theories about the direct negative correlation between the amount of Monty Python references one makes, and the health of his or her social life.cassembler wrote:It was supposed to be a MOnty Python reference... it was all in good humor.
Ha ha, just kidding.
