I need to transfer 1/2" 8-track tape to DAW; anyone kno
...someone who does this? I'm having a hard time with Google - type in "8-track" anything and suddenly you're back in the early seventies. I looked through the TapeOp ads but couldn't find anything.
I want to transfer an album's multitracks to 24-bit WAVs so I can remix it.
I'm in Boston, so if I could drop off the tapes that'd be better than mailing them.
Thanks!

If MoreSpaceEcho can do it for you, I would recommend him or anyone he recommends to you, in a heartbeat.
Another good possibility that I might suggest, is George Blood Audio in Philadelphia. He has done some archival transfers for me (not of 8-track but other formats). He is kind of a little on the expensive side, but he's very thorough and clean and delivers exactly what you want, with no hassles or worry. This guy does nothing but transfers, all day long, that's his thing.

Half inch 8T transfer
Hi TJ
I can do them for you. As it happens, I'm busy doing a 5 reel transfer of that format right now.
Take a look at my web site:
www.thinbrownline.com
You'll have to ship your tapes to me here in California, but most of my clients have to do that.
