Latest gear you've acquired.....
Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
This thing is a LOT of fun. Got it for $95, nearly mint.
Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
I was lookin' at one of them on E-Bay ... congrats.
I just picked up a Ibanez AW7 Auto-Wah what, while not the strongest wah sound, combined with it's distortion is pretty cool on bass. I like the Ibanez Tone-lok series (I also have the Phat-Hed), and love the "lock" feature, altho' they are very Iron-Curtain in appearance..
I also got a Malekko Diabolik (a variation on the B:Assmaster), what is awesome on bass. I now have 3 Malekko pedals (also the E-Filter and the Chiklet) and I find them very useable, and their diminutive size is a great bonus. However, the plastic-shaft knobs are mebbe not the sturdiest ...

Lamb PML422 Mixer. Old thing from 1975 that Revox made to pair with their A77. 4 mic inputs, 2 outputs, 1 aux send, 2 limiters, all discrete looks to be input transformers as well from pics i've seen (not sure how they are unbalanced then). Looking forward to pairing this with a 4 track reel for some demo recording. Original Power supply was included with mine too.
this isn't the listing i won, just posted it for those who wanna see a pic

Recently added a DPA4099G, Mojave 300 & 301 and a Daking preamp/eq. So far, really happy! Broke but very happy.
I'd gladly trade everything I have now for a nice sounding room and a bucket of 57's

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
i got it today. works but the outputs (stereo left and right) are sending different levels. i'm guessing it needs a recap. i reseated all the cards (fully discrete, transformers on the inputs) and that helped get one channel that wasn't working. VU meter's barely move at all. anyone have any suggestions for those?markjazzbassist wrote: ↑Fri Sep 15, 2017 7:09 amLamb PML422 Mixer. Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
well the Lamb mixer went back to the seller, was broken and i got a refund. Instead I used that money to get a mixer i have owned before, 1974 Sony MX-20. It's all discrete transformer in/out using FETs. mine came from the American Film Institute (they were used a lot for location/broadcast) mixers. 8 in 4 out, i've a very happy man. i used to own one years ago but got broke and had to sell. glad to have one back!

Got an 8 string bass from ebay last week, for under $300 and hard case as well, new strings and working battery.
An ESP "Frank Bello" model FB-208. I'm way more of a Cheap Trick guy than Anthrax, but the latest model Tom Petersson endorses is $12,000.
Now to learn to play the thing ...

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
Great price! I've been looking for one to add to my arsenal, that and one of the dobro basses. I sorta recently bought a Bass VI and that is awesome; as well I have one of the A/E basses that's fretless.
Casual listeners don't often get it, but I think different basses can change songs nicely, not just the sounds but including how/what I play.
I always wanted to learn, "Mandocello".

Got a little baby mixer, the “Midas” DM12. Decent for the price, didn’t need magic mojo just a clean and flexible way to submix into my Tascam 388. Mainly bought because it was the smallest and cheapest all analog mixer I could find that uses a straight iec power cord instead of a weird janky din connector.

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
That would be a little harder to do the "right" way, it looks like the tuning is unisons - CC GG DD AA.
Maybe restring a 12 string guitar and leave some strings off?

I was referencing the Cheap Trick choon, actually.
Just bought a DOD Boneshaker on sale from Harmon, going on the bass board.
Got a used Memory Boy on the way, with some kinda Ashdown distortion - wanted the delay, the other came bonus.
Bought me a Xmas gift, also, on the way, a Revelation RTJ 60, my fecund, not least cuz I always wanted a guitar colored Coral. (Now I gotta find one in Surf Green, then Pelham Blue ... )
