headphone mixer systems

Post by permanent hearing damage » Mon Mar 05, 2018 10:24 am

what are you folks using these days? my Furman system is still going but it's temperamental as all hell and i'm starting to have pots go out. is that behringer powerplay thing any good? not excited that it seems to use the same CAT5 cabling, but at least you can still buy them.

i have a lot of bands that track live, so headphone mixers are kinda nice to have. also, my console crapped out a few months ago so now only using my Antelope Orion for routing - which only gives me one low latency mix output.

is there really not an app yet for tablets/smartphones that functions as a headphone mixer? if not, it can't be too far off, no?

behringer x32 you connect a LAN and you can mix yourself on iOS app. live its great, no more yelling at the monitor person, now every just looks at the phone and tweaks their mix.

way overkill for what you need but there's gotta be something similar out there.

MOTU AVB interfaces (and probably other kinds of networked interfaces) will let clients mix on their phones/tablets in you have it all hooked up to WiFi. Seems the best option these days; otherwise you're looking at a lot of extra hardware, cabling, and pots that go bad :(

This is what I've got: http://motu.com/products/avb/monitor8

I have the Behringer Powerplay. Couldn't be happier with it, though I have had one mixer go out.

I have a whole Furman system sitting in a plastic tub.
Brain, 8 boxes, cabling....
I'd sell it real cheap if you wanted some backup/extras.
PM me.
