Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
I have actually come to prefer the 520i on my little Ampeg BA108 over the SM7b (into a The Brick and 160XT, paralleled with a VC3Q) - it's got just a trace more "cut" to bring the bass out in the mix ... Mine broke two weeks ago but on disassembly I found that one of the capsule wires had detached. Easy fix, but do be just a bit careful moving it on the swivel. (I actually extended the wires about 1/3" during the repair to allow more slack.)
And the ISA1 is just such a useful, solid pre. I typically use that on amps and vocals.

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
For 18 years or so I’ve wanted a Roland G707 guitar...and today I saw one up on Reverb real cheap and a couple hours away...with a GR300 synth module and various other accessories and cords. So I asked the seller if he would let me pick it up to save on the substantial shipping cost (and risk of course). He offered to deliver instead (and still save on shipping) so I had to pull the trigger. He delivered the same day...got to play a little bit. The guitar itself is pretty great, synth part maybe a bit cheesy...will see if that part is a keeper or not.

Realistic/Moog MG-1, Fostex Model 80, Tascam 388, Boss DR-110, Wurlitzer Swingin' Rhythm
I'm planning on doing a 1/4" 8 Track Shootout between the Fostex and Tascam. I've owned many 388's over the years and like them, but have always wanted to try the Fostex due to 15 IPS and it's compact size (i already have a nice mixer so that part of the 388 is kinda moot). I don't have digital recording ability otherwise i'd try and post something, but it should be fun

I had a GR300 years ago--it just didn't suit me. I still have a GR700, which is sort of like a JX3P in an oversized floor module. It doesn't track as well as the 300, but I enjoy the sound a lot more.
Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
Yeah the seller said the 700 doesn’t track as well. I used to have a jx3p which I didn’t really love either so I’m not in a hurry to try to track one down. It came with a GM70 though so if I wanted to I could just trigger anything else.winky dinglehoffer wrote: ↑Tue Mar 20, 2018 8:03 pmI had a GR300 years ago--it just didn't suit me. I mainly just wanted the deloreon of guitars though, it just happened to be packaged in a way where i got a bunch of accessories too. Also came with US2, FC100, and a few 24 pin cords.

Korg ms20 mini. Pairs well with my Univox sr-120.
Tried to get an Ampeg Gemini VI, but UPS smashed it. Have a Gemini V on the way, we'll see.

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
Snapped up one of the last few BitTree 48x2 TT-to-DB25 patchbays on eBay for $380. Not exactly the same as my existing Audio Accessories one (1.5u), but at least both are 48x2 and will look nice on top of each other.
Also grabbed two DB25 mult adapters (two 4-point TT mults per DB25) and some extra TT patch cables. Going to be a fun weekend of re-wiring crap once I get around to it!!!

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
Just ordered a pair of Focal Solo 6's. Pretty much having an anxiety attack since they are def. the most expensive single piece of gear I've ever purchased.
