My advice (which you probably don't need) is to keep gutters clean and make sure they carry the water far away from the building. I've had to cope with a lot of water problems in various homes, so I feel your pain. My general experience is that good gutters go a long way toward alleviating misery.
And the new place looks amazing!

Oh yeah, no worries. I have the cleanest gutters in new england, I assure you! And they're tied into the discharge pipe for the drains, all the water goes far away from the building.

Yeah, I tell people, whenever your basement leaks look up. You've got a clogged downspout or dripping gutter usually.winky dinglehoffer wrote: ↑Thu Oct 04, 2018 8:08 amMy advice (which you probably don't need) is to keep gutters clean and make sure they carry the water far away from the building. We got the remnants of Michael on Friday morning, after getting a bunch of rain on Thursday, and sweet jesus I could see that my french drains are actually working now. Water streaming out the discharge pipe long after the rain had stopped and the gutters had cleared. What a sight.
