After much deliberation, we have decided to cancel tonight's meetup on account of the windchill. Please stay safe tonight.

We're working with Lance to figure out a new date, hopefully in the near future.

The July 2019 MSP Audio Geeks meetup will be on Monday, July 29th from 7-9pm at Hennepin Technical College's Eden Prairie campus. Thanks to Matt Holmes for hosting us!

This event will be a swap meet! If you have gear that you are looking to re-home - even if it needs repair - feel free to offer it up. All gear swap terms are to be determined directly by the individuals involved. The only rule is that if you brought something that doesn't have a new owner at the end of the night, you must bring it home with you!

Thanks also to Roll Music Systems for providing some tasty eats for us! Justin will also be available to answer questions about troubleshooting gear that may be in need of repair. He'll also be showcasing a PACE desoldering system.

About the HTC Audio Production program:
The Audio Production program at Hennepin Technical College has been training audio professionals for over 25 years and offers an AAS degree and Diploma. The facilities offer 7 full production studios and 18 DAW workstations. As part of the MinnState education system, the Audio Production program offers some of the lowest tuition in the State, while maintaining small class/lab sizes, and up to date equipment/gear. Matt Holmes has been a full-time faculty member for 13 years, along with studio manager/lab assistance Mike Byrne. Matt also is an engineer at Wild Sound Recording Studio in northeast Minneapolis.

A bit about Roll Music Systems:
Roll Music Systems is a small Minneapolis company specializing in analog gear that brings big-studio sound to smaller studios, including the Folcrom passive summing device and a line of all-tube 500-series modules. They also design products for other manufacturers and consult for studio installations around the world.

All are welcome to attend. ***Please note that you may BYOB but it must be of the non-alcoholic variety.*** Hennepin Technical College is also a tobacco-free campus. Learn more about it here. I just have to say I admire your ability to keep this going for so many years (yeah I looked back at the posts). We tried it awhile back in Austin and it just fizzled (like so many band and/or music opportunities). anyway, kudos for such a long-lived meetup. I hope the folks there appreciate what you are doing!

Thanks! I'm very happy that people keep coming to hang out. Next spring will be our 10-year anniversary! There are always different studios to visit & new people to meet. I'm happy to do my part in contributing to the community here.

I'm sorry to hear that similar hangs fizzled out for you in Austin. I'll hit you up if/when I come to Austin and maybe we can make something happen.
