Same deal here. I saved up the money for one, then got boutique combo amp fever and now I'm starting over.Recycled_Brains wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2020 9:17 amI really need to just pull the trigger on a Coles. I've been wanting one for like a decade now. haha. Ridiculous that I don't yet own one given all the money I've squandered on way less cool things.

I think that's the other thing that keeps me from jumping. It's like getting lasik surgery for one eye. Sooner or later you're going to want that on both sides.

That's one weird metaphor.
I mean, I'd-a gone for, like, one castanet or sompin'.

I hadn't seen that video. It's a pretty good demo. Mine only had the input control on the front, but there were input, output, and a threshold control with screwdriver pots on the back. I just had those moved to the front, which is VERY useful. They're extremely interactive.vvv wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 7:30 pmI read a descrip of the Limpander cranked as like, "Velveeta in a dust storm".

Pork Pie Butcher Block 6x14 snare. Really nice crack to it. It is butcher block construction not just a veneer. thick shell.

a Stave shell is typically vertically oriented like a barrel. this one is a horizontal butcher block construction. I bought it used but should probably ask Bill D about it.

I did check with Bill D and he said based on the (handwritten) serial #, his book says "Oak" but he wondered if his book was wrong. Said it might be Yellowheart (a Brazilian hardwood). But it was built in 2000 so can't blame him for not remembering. either way, it sounds great.

DOD BiFET 210 (re-issue); soundwise it's actually a pretty subtle boost on bass, which is OK, and the switchable buffer will probably end it up at the end of one of my boards. It's on sale, (or was) $45 direct, free shipping that I learned on a Faecesbook ad (probably the best thing FB ever did for me except tell me about the DOD Gunslinger - what I like as a germanium distortion).
EHX Pitchfork: this is the shizzit for a pitch-shifter/octave pedal. It ain't really traditional in that it seems to compress and even reverb just a touch when used with bass - no doubt because it's digital. It has a bit of an identifiable sound, but that sound is good.

Got a small guitar amp, custom made, all-metal cabinet, 4" speaker, all tube. I like it.
