good, gibson under venture capital has turned into the d'bag in the music industry. suing everyone and their brother to try and fix the financial mess they got themselves in. Heritage makes better Gibsons than Gibson can. same factory, same employees, im rooting for them. Gibson can go do one.

About 10 years ago a buddy part-owned a music store here in Chi and used to rave about Heritage guitars and their quality and playability.

His store was a licensed distributor and I shoulda bought one for a good price.

I did check 'em out and in particular recall their wonderful finishes.

i believe they are the same price or cheaper than gibsons but wipe the floor with them. friend had a 335 that was perfect in every way, i used it in the studio many times and it was a dream. i almost bought one after that because it was such an experience. i've got a friend that tours his epiphone 339 instead of the gibson 339 he has because he said the Epi is the better guitar. both are modern versions. that says it all really.

I hope Heritage is able to continue. The building at 225 Parsons has been in pretty bad shape recently from what I've heard (from a friend who still lives in the area). At one time you could get tours but I don't see anything listed on the Heritage site anymore. ProCo sound used to be from that legacy too and they are just another corporate acquisition now as far as I can tell. I grew up in the area but have been gone almost as long as Gibson and ProCo...

FWIW, I hear very good things about Epi Masterbilts (spelling is correct).

I have a 80's Sheraton II that is wonderful, altho' I have a few Gibbies that are good - they are from the '80's and early 90's.

But I did always want the Heritage 335 ...

BTW, if you look up, "Heritage guitar" on the Ebog, you'll find a bunch of listings for Gibsons with "heritage cherry" finish.

Wonder if that finish pre-existed the Heritage company ...

Not as far as I can tell!
