Your go-to acoustic guitar verb
Little specific... I know.
But what flavor do you put on for general purpose guitar spaciousness: plate, room, spring, mono, stereo? Predelay, high pass, low pass?
I know what to do if it's supposed to be a psychedelic swamp, but I rarely get into verb on an acoustic for gentle space, and realized listening to some records that I probably should.

1. The room itself, if it sounds good.
2. a very short reverb, or even a delay set as "pre reverb" aka lots of small repeats, very low, and random. Some reverb units do this, as well as plug ins.
3. A plate.
In the end, the song itself will dictate what fits best.

Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.

Re: Your go-to acoustic guitar verb
I made an IR of a room that I work out of quite frequently. It's a decent size but not huge. Wood walls and a lowish wood ceiling. Black and white checkered asphalt tiles. On paper it should be a mess but it sounds really great on acoustic instruments. It's a small room sound but really brings things to life.
I made an IR of the room so I could fake room mics if needed but now I use it all the time on projects recorded at various places

Often a room mic or two. Little Plate can be good, or various rooms from the TC M3000.

Room, or simulated room.

Natural room ambience depending on the room which sometimes is just dry.

Re: Your go-to acoustic guitar verb
I have a small room (14'x17',12 ' ceiling),so when im tracking acoustic,I use an sdc and a ribbon as close together as possible, halfway between 12th fret and soundhole. Then i gauge the tempo of the song,as well as the prominence/role of the acoustic in the song. This helps decide how "honest" it's supposed to sound. Then i run either the ribbon or sdc (or both) through the PA system, open the door to the hallway and run mic's (omni/pzm/ribbon) down both sides of the hallway. Both runs of hallways are very long, with 90 degree turns to bathrooms, etc. Essentially an echo chamber. If not that, a PZM taped to a ceiling as far away from source,or better yet, a Lexicon Pcm-60 set on Plate and inverse.
