Re: No more gearslutz
I still bailed.
Read too many comments about "he-she's" and how people who just want to help make non-straight-white-male's feel comfortable are pussies.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised that a bunch of dudes who never leave their house aren't exactly up-to-date.

Re: No more gearslutz
I find the site formerly know as something un-PC helpful on occasion for reviews and info re gear
I confess to having downloaded and abused some drum loops guys post to show off their recording gear and skills
I have never and will not register
talkbass is the opposite in being buttoned-down and on-topic, which can play havoc with my sense of humor, but ultimately makes for a better and less offensive reading experience, altho' that site has its own peccadillos - I mean, imagine how bad would be a drummers' site, and realize this one is bass players

Re: No more gearslutz
as a member of TB i find the constant putting down of drummers to be just dumb. i love drummers, as the rhythm section we are like family. i've never put down the drummers in any band i've been in, i literally love playing with them. i think most on there are non-musician professionals that think musos joke about such things (they don't). it used to be a very helpful place to go, now every thread is a one up contest on who can be funnier/more ironic/punny, etc. also the constant one ups-person-ship about who's fancy bass they have (some 10k Roscoe/Fodera/Sadowsky/etc.) and their collection gets old, those are mostly doctors/lawyers showing off their "who's is bigger" toy. i digress.vvv wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 9:21 amI find the site formerly know as something un-PC helpful on occasion for reviews and info re gear

Re: No more gearslutz
Not me re the rich guy bass thing but re the "punny":
I confess.
I will also note that I have been a non-pro muso for going on 50 years and at least 10 bands, have always teased the drummers*, and believe they appreciate it.
Especially if you give 'em a biscuit right after.
You, sir, may well suffer from Stockhausen Syndrome.
* and everyone else.
