That song is great, the reverb unit sounds fascinating.
I never heard about them before. Wasn't there an old stompbox that has oil in it?

I think you're thinking of the Tel Rey oil can delay/echo - https://stangguitars.com/products/vinta ... 0140550249
I think Morely also made a version.

They're very rare and usually broken now. Plus the "oil" is highly carcinogenic. You've got to really, really love the sound to justify the risk.

Today I learned "Morley" was a play on "Leslie".

8)

I have a 40-50 y.o. wah/volume pedal from Morely that seems to weigh like 10 lbs.

If it was ever worth anything, I likely de-valued it by putting a flip-switch on top to switch between the two functions.

It was my only wah for like 10 years; I've never been a subtle-enuff player to use a volume pedal.

Update on this thing -
I've replaced the Class D mini amp with a little Behringer headphone amp I've had gathering dust for a bunch of years now. The Class D was way over kill and the spring seems perfectly happy running off the headphone amp.
I'm thinking of wiring in an old Urei 539 graphic EQ that I've got in storage so I can have a permanent pre-reverb EQ applied. The spring really needs a hi-pass around 500-600K to sound best.

The schematic shows a push-pull pair of 6J5 tubes, and the spec sheet for those says 2.5 watts maximum dissipation. Hammond didn't run anything out to the max, so a reasonably beefy headphone amp would probably be just about right.

Nice find. I wonder if those crystal pickups are like crystal mics, in that they absorb humidity and die over time.

I'm thinking my next nerdy punk band might be called, ... "fluid column".

Unless you want the name ...
