new one, by me (Montana Book Club)

Post by mjau » Wed Jun 01, 2022 8:49 am

Hey all...just finished this one, and it's got some very cool cameos by a few Tape Op peeps, both in front of and behind the glass (and in some cases both). For better or worse, it was the first time I really committed to writing for myself and seeing these songs through to completion. Learned a lot in the process, for sure, and grateful to have had some amazing collaborators along the way. Glad to put it to bed and move on to writing some new stuff.

Cheers,

Thanks, man - I don't really know what to do with my voice, but really love how folks like Howe Gelb and Richard Buckner just put the vocal right out front, warts and all.

Drumsound put together an excellent mix of the closing song (along with cloning Jay Bellerose on drums).

I just said this same thing on Jay Reynolds' post, but this record is also terrific, was a pleasure to work on, and you all should listen to it!

Sounds great!
Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.

Helps when the mastering engineer sprinkles magic unicorn dust all over it, or whatever it is you do to make it sound right. ;)
