Midas Venice F series vs Soundcraft Delta DLX

Post by paulrichards7 » Thu Dec 05, 2013 8:53 am

I came across some audio examples of a Midas Venice F16 the other day and really love the sound
Its the tone Ive been looking for in my head for years
After doing a lot of research, at this point its a bit out of my price range
Ive read a lot of people preferring a Soundcraft Delta DLX modded or non modded over the Midas
My question is, is this because its cleaner sounding and better at capturing the natural sound of instruments?
Or because its just better sounding?
Thanks in advance

What are you gonna be using it for?
I keep coming across Venice's in live situations around the uk, and Soundcraft, but more the GB4's and GB2's. I prefer the Soundcrafts.
To me the Venice isn't really a proper Midas, its not built like one and the sound isn't the same. They do have a pretty powerful EQ, but the short faders aren't great and they're not a terribly well built desk.
Have you looked at anything else at all? Allen & Heath?
