Internet Explorer
Anyone know how to permanently delete the default folders in the favorites menu? I keep trying but they just rebuild themselves. I hate Microsoft...
Re: Internet Explorer
I do not know how to permenantly get rid of those folders, but I can tell you that might want to give Firefox a try. It is an open source browser that is starting to give Internet Explorer some stiff competition. I use it all the time and love it.

Re: Internet Explorer
Found It!!!
--------------
To Permanently delete the "Links" Folder:
Using the Registry - Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar
Set the String value of "LinksFolderName" to equal a blank string. Open IE and delete the Links folder from the Favorites menu. The next time you start Internet Explorer the Links folder will not be recreated.

Re: Internet Explorer
please, please stop using internet explorer. please? it's a buggy piece of shit.
The security holes are plentiful and well documented. Firefox and Opera really are simply better, as well as more secure.
every time I design a webpage, my production time is doubled just because I 'need' to make sure IE doesn't freakout. simple, simple standards based stuff and IE just fucks it up.
please?

Re: Internet Explorer
Microsoft itself recommended people stop using Internet Explorer (well 5 at least) cuz there were too many holes. Hell with it. Firefox is great.
Re: Internet Explorer
Longtime Mozilla user, I LOVE firefox. Expecially it's RSS integration. Use thunderbird, too.
I get satisfaction of three kinds. One is creating something, one is being paid for it and one is the feeling that I haven?t just been sitting on my ass all afternoon.
Re: Internet Explorer
Can I migrate my favorites? The only thing that has ever kept me from changing browsers is the threat of having to rewrite all my bookmarks.
As for security, I use Zonealarm Pro and the popup blocker StopZilla...

Re: Internet Explorer
Absolutely you can migrate your favorites. In Mozilla its right under the "File" pull-down -- Import, which will put you into a wizard whereupon you can import not only your favorites, but bookmarks and history, as well -- you don't even have to give up your autocomplete.

Neskowin was great. Friends Eric and Sarah came down on Friday to hang out. We went up to Rockaway and rocked the night away in front of the bonfire. Almost got taken out at high tide but the water stopped short. I played cover tunes for 3 or 4 hours on my friend's acoustic. Very hilarious.
My mom bought the Safeway pre-fab dinner this year and actually it was pretty good. It was fun not having to really cook much and we spent more time walking the dogs on the beach with friends.
The full moon was awesome! Yesterday I had the best french dip sandwich I have ever had at Neskowin's venerable Hawk Creek Cafe, plus we split a pitcher of Terminal Gravity's IPA. Nice!
