Revisit: Drewtronics Sherlock
Revisit: Drewtronics Sherlock
Finally got around to putting this together. The board is all soldered and complete, but i have no wiring diagram to show were the switches/ XLR/1/4"/trannies hook up.
In searching the board i found a picture of a stereo unit's guts.... though the shadows make it a bit difficult to decipher...
Any help?
cheers, kevin

I am pretty sure I have a PDF of the manual somewhere that drew sent me - but I am on the road right now and do not have it with me.
if you still can't find it in a week, PM me and I will look through files on my home computer.

Still Looking
Hi again folks.
So MilkmanSound's help didn't quite pan out (i had already culled his available info from the archives...), but it was much appreciated....
Specifically i am looking for the WIRING diagram, not the basic directions.... Perhaps someone has a high resolution foto of their guts?
If i could read schematics better, would the Shure Level Lock schematic give me the actual wiring diagram?
cheers, kevin

Re: Still Looking
I think I've got what you're looking for: Sherlock schematic and board layout side-by-side. PM me your email address and I'll send it over.iC wrote:Specifically i am looking for the WIRING diagram, not the basic directions.... Perhaps someone has a high resolution foto of their guts?

IIRC, the original Shure schematic is really close, but since there were 2 versions they released, you'd need to make sure that you were using the right schem. Plus, troubleshooting will be 100x easier with the layout diagram.

EDIT: Oh wait, you're looking for info on the non-PCB parts... I might have that around somewhere on paper.

What would the legality be of me posting the schem and wiring diagram online? I've had a few requests already here, by PM, for copies. It would be easiest to just post the documents and put a link up here.
We can discuss further privately if you wish...

If you poke around Shure's web site, you can find the schem in their discontinured manuals section. It's from that lovely era when the schem was part of the users manual.
Here's a schem, I'm not sure if it's entirely correct for the Sherlock:

I've gotten a couple PM's about the Sherlock wiring diagram in the last week. If I can find my copy, I will scan and post it. Drew has long since moved on from this project, and since it's just the wiring diagram (and not complete schematic or design) I don't think he'd mind. But I'll ask him again, to be sure...
