Amp Repair talk
"Roy Blakenship,a legend in guitar amplifier repair, design and manufacturing, takes us through the steps of repairing different kinds of antique, classic and contemporary tube amplifiers. Roy has a distinct emphasis on diagnosis and demodification, thus returning the amplifiers back to factory specs, that sets him apart from most tech and repair people."

Thanks for this. I could watch something like this all day.
If I could do it all again I'd definitely pay more attention to the electrical and electronic side of things. And not just because Blankenship mentioned charging $500 for that amp repair.

Interesting video, thanks for posting.
At the moment, two of my amps are with Roy, both Mesa SOBs. The problems are minor, probably power tubes/biasing. He's worked on both amps in the past, and has always done a great job for a reasonable price.
Roy's a good guy--super smart, great sense of humor, very conscientious. I do worry a bit about his health lately. He had a pretty severe case of sciatica as of about two weeks ago, but hopefully that's better now.
Looking forward to getting my amps back soon. . . .
