Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
a pair of Chandler Little Devil mic pres - loving them so far. only used on two sessions - guitars last weekend, kick and guitar this weekend. Haven't noticed the "bright" switch doing much, but maybe the feedback knob being cranked negates the boost a bit?
Beyerdynamic D71c kick mic. pretty damn close to the Beta 91 I have, but maybe a tiny bit less plastic-y in the click area.

Picked up a couple rack devices on the cheap... Emu Proteus 2000 and a Roland SDE 1000.

Haven't tried those, but I did have a pair of the compressors on loan for a while. I loved them. I need to get a 2nd Sweet Ten nowpermanent hearing damage wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2019 8:07 ama pair of Chandler Little Devil mic pres - loving them so far. only used on two sessions - guitars last weekend, kick and guitar this weekend. A Studio Projects B1 microphone. An ART Phantom III phantom power supply for the B1, a shockmount (also for the B1), a Casio CTK 711 EX keyboard, two cheap Chinese basses and a laptop.

Hamptone JFET 500 series
2x Hairball Lola (have to build them still)
EDIT: built the DIY 990 opamps. JESUS H. "Op amps aren't so bad." he says. Anyways. That was a tense couple of hours.

BYOC Envelope Filter/Fixt wah - you build it and I'll mebbe buy it! Very nice on guitar, I'm considering the mod for bass. Or not. (I have the 5 knob BYOC multi-compressor, also, and it's a treat.)
Pigtronix Envelope Phaser - now this is what I been looking for! No severe volume shifts, great sound, totally controllable and useably subtle or deeply funky. Hadda a buy a 9@18v. converter to not have to use the wall wart when it's on my daisy-chain powered board, so that added US$20, but it's worth it.

A pair of attachments for my cajon (ouch!). I had a song in my head that needed castanets. They attach with velcro tape, but for my recording, sounded better unattached (the tape is just one strip in the center, and the castanet rocks too much, hitting the surface of the cajon and making a non-castanet sound).

Updated the Arturia to 6, and now, of course, they have 7 out. So will get that soon. LOL.
Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.

On my board (note the voltage doubler to get 18v. outta the one-spot):

vvv says: "f*** velcro, it's all about the bunji!"
Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
Yessuh! Mounted on the bakers' racks - cheaper, cleaner than velcro.
I have more than a few boards, all done like that ...
