Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
A few years ago I tried out a Peavey archtop - $400, but it was a really nice guitar.

The T-40 is the bass version and it is a heavy beast.
That said, the sound ...

And I just ordered a set of pickups for my strat from Stonewall Miller. 9.3k output on the bridge pickup! Super excited to hear how they sound.

Just picked up one of these Eastman guitars. I’m pretty impressed with the build quality, and they’re a fraction of the price of a “real” 335.

Donner Harmonic Square. $30. new, shipped, no tax...
it's a mini-pedal pitch shifter up/down or detune (chorus-like). I played a gig with a guy that had it on his bass guitar and when he kicked it in it was pretty cool (it was a guitar/bass/drums trio). of course he did it tastefully... anyway it's kind of like a poor man's POG (1/10th the price) but only does one pitch at a time (with wet/dry mix). I'm interested to try it on other things (that it may not have been intended for...) in mixes, etc.

Bearfoot Queen Bee: described as "a Blueberry with a treble control", it is a very nice, subtler OD. I pulled the TC Spark offa my board (what had replaced the EHX Soul Food what had replaced the EHX Hot Tubes what had replaced the Blackstar Blue OD what had replaced the Toadworks Meat,Jr.) and put the BQBOD on, liking it a lot so far.
It is now my basic bass OD along with a Zvex Basstortion, with an MXR85 for heavier, and a Malekko Diabolik for the o'er the top Wooley Mammoth sounds.

I dig those Eastman's. I wish I could put my hands on one somewhere around here.Colorblind wrote: ↑Thu Jul 29, 2021 8:11 amJust picked up one of these Eastman guitars. I’m pretty impressed with the build quality, and they’re a fraction of the price of a “real” 335.

It’s about 8 lbs. I was looking at one with a bigsby but after reading some complaints about the extra weight and balance issues, I went with the stop tail. It plays pretty well right out of the gate, but the nut is cut a little higher than I’m used to, so I’ll probably address that at some point.

Yamaha S30 synth - it's from 2000, and the presets definitely sound like it. But it's got 4 oscillators and you can dig into the menus for square or sawtooth, and there's still a subtractive filter. Pianos are mostly OK. Figuring that if I really wanted something interesting in a synth it would be a plug-in, and this has a pretty good Yamaha keyboard action w/ aftertouch so it can be a controller.
